Mr. François Curiel shared his insider’s view of the evolution of the Asian art market, which included the opening of museums, the development of art fairs, the arrival in Asia of international art galleries, and the growth of the Chinese market. He highlighted the rise of Chinese auction houses in a field long dominated by 2 International firms and analyzed the shift in the taste in art, from traditional classical to modern contemporary.

Mr. Curiel is a leading figure in the international auction world, whose career started at Christie's in 1969. He is a world renowned jewelry specialist and leader of Christie’s global Luxury Division, and has been based in Hong Kong since 2010. Often acknowledged in the press as one of the greatest auctioneers of our time, he received France’s most prestigious distinction in 2009 when he was nominated Officer of the Legion of Honor.
